How it works in Brazil
Number portability lets customers switch carriers and keep their number. The process is administered by ABR Telecom, which acts as the Administrative Entity (Entidade Administradora) and runs the BDR (Base de Dados de Referência, the reference database) with the status of ported numbers.
Every port involves two parties: the donor carrier (prestadora doadora), which the number leaves, and the recipient carrier (prestadora receptora), which it joins. Each carrier keeps its own BDO (Base de Dados Operacional, the operational database), synchronized from the BDR, to route calls and messages to the right destination.
The problem
Taking part in this process means handling regulated flows, deadlines and many intermediate states. A synchronization failure between the BDR and the BDO leads to calls that do not complete and to unhappy customers.
How we approach it
- We map the carrier systems involved in portability, such as CRM, activation, network and billing.
- We implement the integration with the Administrative Entity, logging every message and every state change.
- We monitor BDO synchronization and raise alerts on mismatches.
- We test both donor and recipient carrier scenarios.
What you get
- An integration in production, with the Monk Business SOA and BDO products or custom-built.
- An audit trail of requests and updates.
- Operations dashboards and alerts.
- Documentation and support for your team.
